Notes

Seemingly continuous absorption, strongest in the region 38800-39100 cm-1; some indication of band heads. It is not certain that this system is due to MnO.
Heads having v'=0 are ill defined.
Partial rotational analysis of the 1-0 band Pinchemel and Schamps, 1975: spin-spin interaction constants λ' ~ 0 Pinchemel and Schamps, 1975, λ" ~ +0.66 cm-1 Pinchemel and Schamps, 1975. Hyperfine broadening of all rotational lines: many bands are highly perturbed Kay, 1974.
Matrix studies at 4 K Thompson, Easley, et al., 1973 support the view that the lower state of A-X is the ground state.
Thermochemical value (mass spectrom.)[Burns, quoted in Cheetam and Barrow, 1967, Coppens, Smoes, et al., 1967]. Flame photometric values are approximately 4.1 eV Huldt and Lagerqvist, 1952, Padley and Sugden, 1959.
